John Burness is a businessman and adventurer with more than thirty years of experience building, leading, and transforming companies. He began his entrepreneurial career by conducting a start up with some partners in the front room of a house, later going on to build, buy, sell, and advise multiple businesses, including leading several successful turnarounds. Alongside his commercial work, John has undertaken expeditions to some of the world’s most remote places. The discipline, clarity, and most importantly the thinking required in the extreme outdoors shaped his approach to leadership and became the foundation of his business philosophy. It transformed his own companies as well as his work life balance. He founded Axiom Two to give entrepreneurs access to practical, battle‑hardened expertise from people who have operated at the sharp end of business.
